Note: The import works with Outlook 2003 or newer. Outlook 2002 and earlier versions are not supported.

Outlook must be installed on your PC. Import from .PST files is not possible.

2. From other email clients

Mails from other clients can be imported with the EML import. This is only possible if your email client supports .eml files. Most common mail clients like Windows Mail, Outlook Express or Thunderbird are able to do this.

To import the emails into Pimero, you must first export them from your old mail client. You can do this either with an export function or by selecting all the emails you want and saving them as .eml files.

Once you have exported your emails, you can import them into Pimero:

  1. Select the E-mail tab within Pimero.
  2. Import => EML
  3. In Step 1: Select the folders you want to import.
  4. Select whether you want to include subfolders. Please note that Pimero does not automatically create
  5. subfolders. If you want to keep your directory structure, please create your subfolders first.

  7. Step 3: You can link the emails to an existing email account. It is only possible to link the emails to a local Pop3
  8. account.
  9. You decide whether the imported mails are to be marked as unread.
  10. Click on “Import” to start the import.

3. From older Pimero installations

Pimero saves your emails as .eml files. This allows you to import emails from an older version of Pimero by calling EML Import.

The data directory with your old emails depends on your operating system and the old Pimero version.

Windows Vista or newer

C:\Users\WINDOWS_USER\AppData\Roaming\soft-evolution\Pimero

Please note that the directory C:\Users\WINDOWS_USER\AppData is hidden by Windows by default. You can change this in Windows Explorer in the menu “Organize” -> “Folder Options”. In the View tab, check the box “Show hidden files and folders”.

Please note that the directory C:\Documents and Settings is hidden by Windows by default. You can change this in Windows Explorer in the “Folder Options” menu. In the View tab, check the box “Show hidden files and folders”.
