Pimero 2010 provides a service to connect with Facebook and LinkedIn.

This service is able to read activities of your own contacts and also provides the ability to view the profiles.

In addition to that it provides the opportunity to set a new status and to publish information.

At first, the module Social Network Connector has to be activated in the administrator options.

Attention: You need to have installed at least the version 8 of Internet Explorer to use the Social Network Connector. In Order to use the full functionality, Javascript has to be enabled in the Internet Options of the Internet Explorer.

To connect with a social network you can select a network in the menu bar.

Depending on the selected network a new window is opened, in order to put in the user data:

Important: Pimero does not read or store your username or your password, but transfers them to the social network.

At the first usage of the Social Network Connector eventually you will be prompted to grant some privileges for Pimero.

These privileges are necessary for Pimero in order to show data of Facebook.

In the following some windows will prompt in which different privileges can be granted or rejected.

If all privileges are rejected, the Social Network Connector cannot work with Facebook.

The contact list:

The symbols beside the names shows to which social network the contact belongs.

blue = Facebook

green = LinkedIn

two-colored: The account exists in both networks. (At this time this features is limited to identical names only.)

A white point in the middle shows that this in the own account.

By clicking on the symbol or double-clicking on the name, the profile window, in which all

available data of this account are shown, is opened.

Publish on Facebook:

In order to publish information on Facebook, the following dialogue is available:

If there is only some text inserted, the own status is updated on Facebook.

Additionally it is possible to attach a picture, an event, a note or a link (attachment-icons from left to right)

to the post and publish it on your own wall.

Moreover you can post a message or a link to a friends wall.

By clicking on the icon on the left hand side of the text field the address book is opened

and you can choose some recipients by double-clicking on their names.
