Synchronize with Google

Attention: Please create a backup of your Google calendars and contacts (see -> Manual for calendar backup and Manual for contact backup) bfore each synchronization. This will prevent you from loosing your data ion case of errors.

System requirements:

  • Installed Pimero Server version 2010 R5 or newer. If you are currently using a single PC installation please switch to client/server mode first.
  • A Google account. This can be created here.

These types of data can be synchronized with Google:

  • Appointments (without recurring appointments)
  • Contacts

1. Pimero Server Configuration

Start the ServerAdmin (Start -> All Programs -> Pimero -> Server -> ServerAdmin) and switch to the panel shown on the left.

Turn on the Sync Service (if not already done) and enter a free TCP port number. In most cases the default port 8085 will do.

After making those changes click on "Apply changes"

2. Pimero Clients Configuration

Start Pimero and click on the button "Sync with mobile device or Google account".

If this button doesn't show up it may be because you already have configured another type of phone for synchronization. In that case please open the options via Extras -> Optionen in the main button bar of Pimero.

Change to the view shown on the left side and enter you Google account credentials. Then click on "Connect"

Below there is the area where you need to assign the Google folders to the corresponding Pimero folders. Please do this for all combinations of folders (calendars and contacts) you would like to synchronize.

For appointments you can additionally configure the time span that should be synchronized. Appointments that are outside of that rage will be ignored.

If everything if configured properly you can close the window with the "Ok" button.

3. Start the Sync

After closing the options windows the changes will be transferred to the Pimero server. After a few seconds this is done and the new button "Sync with Google" appears on the bottom left corner. Click there to start the synchronization.

As soon as this process has ended all you data can be found in Google and on you Android phone.
